Orchid was selected for
all three products. Orchid's experience in providing operating
procedures, training material and computer based training
meant that all three products could be originated and produced
'in house'.
Training and Operations Manual
A multi-functional document; to be used by
existing Operators in the day-to-day operation of the facilities,
and also by new Operators as an essential source of reference
information. Contains both simplified and detailed diagrams
illustrating production and utility systems and equipment.
Lecture Packs
Produced in parallel to the Training and Operations
Manual. Each pack forms the basis of a training lecture on
a production or utility system and consists of a lecture plan,
lecturer's notes and OHP slides.
Permit to Work Computer Based Training
A self-learning Computer Based Training system,
distributed by CD-ROM, aimed at ensuring that all personnel
on the facilities, both customer employees and contractors,
become familiar with, and able to actively operate within,
the Permit to Work System. The Computer Based Training system
was based on the clients own Permit to Work System, as the
client wished to avoid any possible operational errors that
could result from training using any of the readily-available
generic training systems.
A Student Tracking Database, administered by
a customer-nominated Supervisor, tracks and records the progress
of all personnel using the System.
The System includes a graded test module enabling
the competency of all personnel to operate the Permit to Work
System to be established.
All three products were completed on time and
within budget and Orchid are currently working on updates
to the products, resulting from the initiation of a second
phase of development.
