Orchid have been awarded the contract to prepare Operating Procedures Manuals for an Oil Field in the Middle East.

The manuals will cover more than 30 process and utility systems and are initially focussed on the field’s Central Processing Facility.

Orchid Awarded Project for Security Equipment Documentation

Orchid have been awarded the order to supply a set of manuals for specialist equipment that places security holograms on documents and cards.

The equipment is exported around the world and is often used in secure locations where external technical support and maintenance services may not be accessable. The manuals therefore need to provide the Supervisor and Operators of the equipment with everything they need to configure, operate and maintain the equipment.

One of the deliverable is for an Interactive Maintenance Manuals which will be compiled and delivered as an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).

Orchid Increases Document Hosting Capacity

Orchid not only write and maintain technical manuals, but also host them on our Internet Servers. This allows Orchid Clients to log in through a secure password and gain access to the latest version of the manuals that Orchid maintain for them.

Users of this service include Safety Officers who need ready access (via satellite Internet) to the latest SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) Training Manuals for their vessel.

Orchid have added two more high capacity servers to provide further hosting for this requirement.

Orchid have invested in the latest software tools and hosting solutions to further expand our commitment to bespoke Computer Based Training (CBT) design, authoring, development and hosting.

In addition to our technical writing and graphics capabilities, Orchid can build SCORM compliant CBT modules, allowing the modules to be installed in any SCORM compliant Learning Management System. Modules can be hosted on our client’s Learning Management System (LMS) or our own hosted LMS solution (hosted by OrchidServe, our ISP Division).

Orchid Update Fleet SOLAS Training Manuals

Orchid continue updating the SOLAS Training Manuals for several cruise ship fleets with a new round of updates.

Orchid’s maintenance team have received another batch of ship equipment updates that require swift revision of the SOLAS Training Manuals for each vessel. The updates will be incorporated and then either new copies of the manuals will be shipped to the next convenient port to meet the vessel, or the changes will be uploaded on to Orchid’s document hosting systems for the ship to download and print themselves.
