For one overseas Oil Company Orchid produced separate Operations Manuals and Operating Procedures Manuals.

The Operating Procedures Manuals contained the operating procedures / instructions for a plant area / system for different operating scenarios, eg normal startup, startup following ESD, normal shutdown, etc.

These were supported by:

• Equipment lists
• Valve lists – with allocated valve IDs / tag numbers
• Valve position tables
• Drawing references
• C&E chart references

These were produced in an electronic format suitable for loading onto the Company control computers, providing the Operators with access to the Procedures at their workplace.
